An artist and dirtector
Miranda Martinez is an emerging director and versatile theatre practitioner from South Texas. Miranda graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in Performance and Production and has been involved in different aspects of theatre for over 10 years wearing multiple different hats. Miranda believes in a people-first mentality when it comes to her practice, and strives to have that be the base of all their work. Her latest production was ‘Somewhere: A Primer for the End of Days’ at the Gaslight-Baker Theater.
You may have seen some of their other work with the Broke Thespian’s Theatre Company’s previous productions of ‘Hedda Gabler’ and ‘Murder’s in the Heir’. Her play ‘Wallpaper’, a dramatic adaptation of The Yellow Wallpaper, was produced at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival in 2021. Miranda currently works as a technician at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. She strives to continue work that demonstrates their commitment to innovative and diverse productions.
